In 2016 standard tank-type water heaters will be banned. You will need to install an energy efficient water heater preferably a gas-tank-less water heater or a heat-pump water heater (electric). You can also get a tank-type gas fired condensing water heater of 85% to 95% efficiency. No water heater will qualify except the heat-pump water heater.

Did you know that tank type water heaters have an aluminum annud rod? ( gas & electric ) We advise you strongly not to drink or cook from your hot water spout. Aluminum has been traced to Alzheimer’s Disease. Please don’t cook with aluminum cookware either.

Tankless water heaters have a copper tank and no anode rods– another reason to get one. They are very efficient ( gas bills of $1.00 to $5.00 per month ) come with a 12 year warranty and never need to be replaced. When they break you don’t have to throw it out and get a new one! ( like you do now with a tank-type water heater ), we simply install a new part, flush it out and you’re back in business!
